About the role
GreenCollar is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support the finance team on a permanent full-time basis. This role will assist with day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and reconciliations.
The Assistant Accountant will work closely with the Finance Manager and Financial Accountant to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
The location for the role is flexible but with a preference for Sydney.
Your day to day responsibilities at GreenCollar will include:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reporting and statements
- Perform bank, credit card and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Preparation and lodgement of monthly statutory returns (incl. BAS and payroll tax)
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with audit preparations and compliance activities
- Provide support for the environmental credit trading portfolio administration
- Other financial and administrative support within the finance department
- Assist in project cost accounting ensuring accuracy
- Ensure compliance with internal controls
Skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CA or CPA (or currently working towards)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Eagerness to learn and develop in a finance role
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with non-financial team members
