About the role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring seamless procurement, inventory management, vendor relations, and distribution. You’ll lead a team focused on supply and demand planning, overseeing the production of raw materials, finished goods, and non-merchandise items, including packaging and marketing materials.
With warehouses in Australia and overseas, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring optimal stock levels across multiple locations to meet customer demand. You’ll also collaborate with key internal teams to establish cross-functional processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day management and development of the Supply Planner, Operations Assistant, and Logistics Coordinator in matters pertaining to planning, procurement, logistics operations and quality.
- Organise and manage the VG Operations team in full accordance with policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Lead the identification of continuous improvement processes and opportunities and ensure timely implementation within the Operations team and in coordination with other VG teams (i.e., finance and IT), including adequate tools and systems.
- Proactively lead and empower the Operations team to encourage operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Manufacturing/Planning & Supply Chain
- Overall responsibility for planning and stock control
- Support the Logistics Coordinator on all warehouse stock movements both inbound and outbound and ensure shipping schedules are achieved
- Working closely with the sales and marketing teams on stock forecasting and new product launches or marketing campaigns.
- Extensive collaboration with cross functional teams throughout new product development cycle to drive successful NPD launch
- Provide updates during S&OP meetings and flag any risks to the business
- Maintain scheduling reports and ensure all manufacturers are operating effectively and are meeting deadlines
- Monitor production progress and ensure that the final product meets quality standards and customer specifications
- Support the Senior NPD Manager with QA/QC so quality standards are met
- Provide short- and long-term production capacity plans to manufacturers
- Monitoring and report on vendor performance and KPI’s
- Investigate any production problems, analyze root causes and provide solutions
- Analyze delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust production schedule to meet deadlines
- Oversee the ongoing operation of the ERP system
- Working closely with the finance team on providing input for the budget
- Working closely with logistics, customer service and sales teams and assuring stock control and incoming PO’s are in line with financial budgets
- Working closely with the technical team on new product developments
- Oversee landed cost price calculations (COGS)
- Oversee price negotiations and finalization of prices with suppliers
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in supply chain and inventory management or related field desirable
- 5+ years experience in a similar role
- Strong excel skills and experience with using ERP systems
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, high level problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to demonstrate a flexible working style, dealing with constant change in a busy environment
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines, adapt and prioritise
