Could you be our next Head of Development NSW?

With new restaurant openings driving significant growth in the Australian market each year, our National Development Group is at the heart of McDonald's expansion strategy. We're dedicated to ensuring profitable growth through strategic property investment, development, and management of our construction and asset portfolio. In this role based in our Thornleigh Office, you'll have the unique opportunity to lead our real estate development efforts in NSW. As Head of Development, you'll be responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance to our team, who will bring new development opportunities to McDonald’s as well as navigating key stakeholders internally and externally.

What can you expect on a day-to-day basis?

  • Providing strategic direction for property acquisition, lease negotiation, market analysis, and complex property issues
  • Managing department workload and allocation to ensure regional goals are met
  • Engaging with the New South Wales market to drive opportunities and build a strong developer network.
  • Maintaining and adapting the network strategy for the region
  • Reporting regularly to senior leadership, acting as the primary liaison in the NSW market
  • Overseeing licensee communications and resolve queries effectively

Your keys to success:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Property Economics or a related field
  • Proven history in lease negotiation and site development, ideally within retail or hospitality sectors
  • Expertise in commercial property portfolio strategy, including investment, development, and disposals
  • Deep understanding of the Australian and NSW property market
  • Exceptional leadership skills and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to inspire and influence business owners, including franchisees and small businesses
