Full time, $74,000 - $77,000 + superannuation
Perfectly positioned on the Walsh Bay harbour foreshore, this waterside venue takes you on a journey through the distinctive flavours and tastes of its famed namesake – the coastal town of Jounieh in Lebanon.
This excellent opportunity will be offered on a Permanent Full-Time basis at 38 hours a week.
The successful candidate must have:
- Excellent English skills
- The right to work in Australia
- Certificate III in commercial cookery or relevant qualification related to the field
- Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience
- Team management skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Proficiency in food safety
- Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in running the day-to-day kitchen duties
- Prepare, season and cook different foods as per the menu and customer orders,
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene,
- Communicate orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
- Receiving, storing, stock segregation, and keep records of foodstuffs used
- Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently,
- Use methods such as tasting, smelling or piercing cooked food with utensil,
- Portion, arrange and garnish food, and place in different platters
- Supervise and manage junior cooks and kitchen staff
