Full time, $74,000 - $77,000 + superannuation

Perfectly positioned on the Walsh Bay harbour foreshore, this waterside venue takes you on a journey through the distinctive flavours and tastes of its famed namesake – the coastal town of Jounieh in Lebanon.

This excellent opportunity will be offered on a Permanent Full-Time basis at 38 hours a week.

The successful candidate must have:

  1. Excellent English skills
  2. The right to work in Australia
  3. Certificate III in commercial cookery or relevant qualification related to the field
  4. Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience
  5. Team management skills
  6. Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  7. Proficiency in food safety
  8. Positive communication skills, energy and attitude

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assist in running the day-to-day kitchen duties
  2. Prepare, season and cook different foods as per the menu and customer orders,
  3. Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  4. Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  5. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene,
  6. Communicate orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
  7. Receiving, storing, stock segregation, and keep records of foodstuffs used
  8. Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently,
  9. Use methods such as tasting, smelling or piercing cooked food with utensil,
  10. Portion, arrange and garnish food, and place in different platters
  11. Supervise and manage junior cooks and kitchen staff
