We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a respected aged care provider in the Upper Hunter Region, for an experienced Residential Services Manager to oversee the daily operations of a residential small aged care facility. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care and compliance with all regulatory standards.
About the Role Reporting directly to the Risk and Compliance Manager and the Board , the Residential Services Manager will be accountable for the overall performance of the home - including clinical care, administration, finances, hospitality, lifestyle, and maintenance. You will be leading a team of under 50 staff, as well as overseeing community volunteers. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, a clear understanding of aged care compliance requirements, and a commitment to creating a supportive, resident-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Board to provide input into the home's strategic direction
  • Report all SIRS incidents to the Risk and Compliance Manager
  • Attend and contribute to weekly operational meetings
  • Ensure residents and families are supported through respectful, person-centred care
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain compliance with aged care standards and accreditation requirements
  • Oversee financial performance, budgets, and resource management
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and data management in line with legislative requirements
  • Manage EBA negotiations and maintain effective staff relations
  • Support a positive culture that values accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Requirements
  • Proven experience managing a residential aged care service
  • Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and accreditation process
  • Excellent leadership and staff management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with budget oversight and operational planning
  • Ability to adapt to change and lead through reform
  • Commitment to resident wellbeing and quality of life
Other Details
  • Full-time position commencing May 2025
  • Includes a 6-month probation period , with potential extension based on performance and Board expectations
