Senior Accountant | Combination of Management and Financial Accountant- NSW State Government
- 5 Months Contract - Potential Extension
- $650 Per day + Super
- CBD |WFH 3 days
This is a key role supporting the Finance Director in delivering strategic insights and driving performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting on business performance.
- Provide meaningful financial analysis that links reports to strategic business decisions.
- Collaborate across departments to deliver key operational and financial outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and their teams.
- Assist with the annual budget process, including forecasting, reporting, and analytics.
- Ensure compliance with year-end treasury deadlines.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects as required by the Finance Director.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated understanding of finance and accounting reporting packs.
- Excellent analytical skills and advanced Excel capability.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
- Confident presenting financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Creative problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong systems experience, particularly with SAP , TM1 , and BW .
- CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent).
- Experience working within government and/or independent agency environments is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a similar Finance Business Partner or senior commercial finance role.
