Life Saving Victoria is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisation built on the proud traditions and programs of our founding organisations, the Royal Life Saving Society – Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia.
Lifesaving has been an integral part of the Victorian way of life since 1904. Today LSV is a multifaceted volunteer-based community organisation with a focus on public safety and community wellbeing.

Training and Assessment Officer
We’re looking for a Training and Assessment Officer to join our Aquatic Capability team on a full-time basis. Located at our Port Melbourne Head Office and reporting into the Lead Specialist - Training & Assessment Aquatic this role will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Deliver high-quality training in open water, pool-based, and first aid programs aligned with LSV values and standards.
- Deliver courses to all client groups using current LSV training course and resources, adhering to LSV session plans, delivery expectations and course structures and adhere and contribute to all compliance requirements.
- Provide professional, courteous service and support a positive image of LSV.
- Supporting and ensure adherence to VET, ASQA and Industry standards in partnership with the LSV Quality Assurance personnel.
- Build and maintain strong positive relationships between the LSV Quality Assurance personnel and Training Services staff / stakeholders.
- Drive business growth by actively selling LSV services and products to industry, education, and public markets, fostering relationships, and strengthening partnerships with current and potential training partners.
- Support the marketing efforts for both existing and new LSV products and services, while proactively identifying opportunities for promotion.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of new trainers and assessors.
Who are you?
You’re a confident and passionate trainer with experience delivering engaging, high-quality vocational education in aquatic safety, first aid, or emergency response. You also have the below skills, experience and qualifications:
- Maintained professional development evidence and industry currency in line with ASQA / VET requirements and LSV structures and hold and maintain current qualifications in Pool Lifeguard, Community Surf Lifesaving Certificate and Provide First Aid.
- Previous experience in a role delivering high quality presentations and training to uniquely different client groups, whilst building relationship and developing rapport with clients, internal business units and training colleagues, with limited supervision.
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Ability to conduct flexible assessments and work independently
- A valid Victorian Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel within Victoria
- A current (or ability to obtain) Working with Children Check
