What you'll be doing
This Nurse Manager role provides critical after-hours leadership across mental health services, ensuring quality patient care and effective staff coordination within NSW Health frameworks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and supervise all clinical staff after hours, ensuring safe, quality care.
  • Manage emergency responses and maintain efficient hospital operations.
  • Support bed management and assume Patient Flow Manager duties when needed.
  • Provide expert advice to executives on after-hours service operations.
  • Oversee workforce management, policy implementation, and escalate HR issues.

Essential Requirements

Registration: Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current AHPRA registration

Selection Criteria

  1. Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current AHPRA registration.
  2. Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills.
  3. Demonstrated extensive experience in Mental Health.
  4. Previous nursing management experience, or equivalent in tertiary qualifications, and the ability to deal with complex and challenging situations.
  5. The capacity to work within a multi-disciplinary team and demonstrated leadership in change management and quality improvement.
  6. Demonstrated experience in staff management and performance within mental health resources and competing demands.
  7. Proficiency in the use of IT systems that support the role.
