What you'll be doing
Step into a key role where your organisational skills and initiative truly make a difference. As the Department Secretary – Emergency, you’ll be at the heart of a high-energy, fast-paced Emergency Department, providing top-tier administrative and secretarial support. Reporting to the Manager of Bookings and Admissions and working closely with the Head of Department (HOD) and Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), you'll be a vital link in keeping the department running smoothly. Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in providing high level support in a busy work environment. Certificate III in Health Administration or experience in health administration role.
  2. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with management and staff at all levels.
  3. Demonstrated excellent written communication skills including preparation of reports, briefings, minutes and agendas, spreadsheets, and databases.
  4. Experience in responding to a range of enquiries and determining the appropriate response in a complex work environment.
  5. Advanced proficiency in the use of computer applications including HPRM, Outlook, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) and familiarity with rostering, and procurement systems.
  6. Strong organisational skills with demonstrated ability to plan, organise, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  7. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  8. Experience in working effectively as part of a dynamic team and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
