What you'll be doing

As the Department Secretary – Emergency, you’ll be at the heart of a high-energy, fast-paced Emergency Department, providing top-tier administrative and secretarial support. Reporting to the Manager of Bookings and Admissions and working closely with the Head of Department (HOD) and Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), you'll be a vital link in keeping the department running smoothly. Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in providing high level support in a busy work environment. Certificate III in Health Administration or experience in health administration role.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with management and staff at all levels.
- Demonstrated excellent written communication skills including preparation of reports, briefings, minutes and agendas, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Experience in responding to a range of enquiries and determining the appropriate response in a complex work environment.
- Advanced proficiency in the use of computer applications including HPRM, Outlook, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) and familiarity with rostering, and procurement systems.
- Strong organisational skills with demonstrated ability to plan, organise, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Experience in working effectively as part of a dynamic team and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
