Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services.

An exciting opportunity to join the Hawkesbury District Hospital Team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Grade 1) working Part-Time (4 days a week) within the Infection Prevention and Control Team.
The successful incumbent will work collaboratively to provide safe, compassionate, person-centred health care in collaboration with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
Within in this role, you will provide leadership, advice and recommendations on all aspects of nursing/midwifery and consults on matters relating to the safe and appropriate use of nursing/midwifery practices.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and current NSW Driver’s License and willingness to use same as required for the position.
  2. Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience and post graduate qualifications in Infection Prevention and Control or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
  3. Evidence of consistent demonstration of behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation with all stakeholders including colleagues, direct reports, patients and consumers.
  4. Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing/midwifery practice.
  5. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and knowledge of the practice development framework to clinical practice.
  6. Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence-based research
  7. Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning
  8. Ability to apply clinical expertise in patient-centred consultancy, with the ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
