About the role:The Finance Business Partner (External) – Health Sector role is an external facing role and responsible for supporting the understanding and delivery of the department's strategic financial investment in Victoria's health system, health service financial sustainability and to be the interface between the Department of Health and health services.
This role is responsible for:
* Coordinating financial performance of health services
* Analysing funding adequacy for investment decisions

About you:
Are you proficient in:
* Provide superior advisory support and advice to the health service and internal executives on optimising financial performance and issues.
* Drive optimal financial decision-making through the provision of timely, accurate and useful information to internal stakeholders.
* Deliver regular forecasting and trend analysis providing an independent portfolio view.
* Provide advice to health services on the funding expectations of the Government including recognition of revenue and providing timely response to health services queries on financial matters.
* Provide regular health sector updates to the Chief Finance Officers and Finance leaders at health services.
Qualifications / Specialist Expertise
Qualifications
* A bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting / Commerce.
* Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia (ICAA) and/or Certified Practising Accountants of Australia (CPA) will be highly regarded.
Specialist Expertise
* A high degree of understanding and knowledge of the Victorian budget processes, health system funding, relevant departmental systems and environments.
* Exceptional advisory, negotiation, communication and relationship building skills, with demonstrated capacity to work effectively within a politically sensitive context.
* Knowledge of the Victorian public hospital operations, and the impact of government funding, policy and reform on operations
