This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to play a key role in building the financial systems, processes, and operational support needed to scale effectively. You’ll be central in shaping how the finance function partners with the broader business to enable sustainable growth and informed decision-making.About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Accountant to join our finance function. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working closely with operational stakeholders, whilst having prior experience managing the general ledger for a small to medium size business. The successful candidate will take ownership of key financial processes including project accounting, month-end close, and statutory compliance. Experience with Viewpoint Vista and involvement in ERP development or implementation will be highly regarded.Your responsibilities:
- Collaborate with operational and project teams to ensure accurate project accounting, cost tracking, and reporting.
- Lead month-end close activities including reconciliations, accruals, journals, and financial analysis.
- Prepare and lodge BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax returns in compliance with relevant legislative requirements.
- Utilise Viewpoint Vista to manage accounting processes and maintain data accuracy.
- Support the development and implementation of ERP systems and improvements to financial workflows.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and the delivery of meaningful financial insights to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the enhancement of internal controls, audit readiness, and policy documentation.
- Partner with the broader business to ensure finance supports operational scalability and performance.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA/CA qualified or actively working towards certification (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of project accounting and financial operations in a project-based environment.
- Proficiency in Viewpoint Vista (desirable) and comfort working with complex financial systems.
- Experience with ERP implementations or finance system development.
- Comprehensive understanding of BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax obligations.
- Strong attention to detail, with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with operational teams.
Location
This role is a full-time role, working onsite in our head office at 12 Creek Street in the Brisbane CBD.
