About the role

The Ranger in Charge manages the day-to-day operations of the Tasman Field Centre.

The Tasman and Forestier Peninsula region is a nature-lovers playground, well known for its award winning, multi-day Three Capes Track, Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen, Blowhole and Remarkable Cave.

In this role, the Ranger in Charge will:

  • Be responsible for a team of dedicated and highly competent individuals who focus on the management of a diverse range of reserves.
  • Support and develop the skills and potential of the team members.
  • Contribute to development and implementation of the regional business plan and achievement of strategic goals.
  • Manage the field centre resources, including budget and expenditure.
  • Engage with local community, stakeholders and visitors.

Hours per fortnight

76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).

Essential requirements

  • A Diploma in Conservation and Land Management or other qualifications deemed equivalent.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in reserve management or equivalent experience.
  • A Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate.

Desirable requirements

  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
