Description:

Support Governance, Risk, and Compliance initiatives at NextSense's innovative Macquarie University center.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the integration and delivery of Governance, Risk, and Compliance initiatives.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of a risk and safety framework.
  • Protecting health, safety, and well-being of staff and stakeholders.
  • Guiding management teams in risk and assurance responsibilities.
  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Framework.
  • Ensuring compliance with Policy Governance requirements.
  • Reporting to the Head of Quality, Compliance, and Legal.
  • Working primarily on-site with flexibility for remote work and travel to different sites.

About You

To be successful in this role, you need to demonstrate:

  • A qualification in Law, Social Science, Business/Commerce, Work Health & Safety, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying legislation.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of and respect for NextSense communities and the disability sector.
  • Sound understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape or willingness to develop.
  • A verified Working with Children Check and Criminal Record Check.
  • Preferred: Experience with WHS legislation, not-for-profit industry, WHS and risk management, and certification in risk management.
