The Senior Manager, Supply Chain & Logistics represents a critical leadership role at the intersection of strategic planning and operational excellence for Qantas' Inflight Experience Team. Providing oversight of supply chain services across our entire global catering network, this pivotal position is responsible for orchestrating a complex supply chain ecosystem that directly impacts the airline's service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction through the availability of the right product at the right time in the most efficient means possible.
As the strategic architect of the supply chain infrastructure, the Senior Manager will lead an approach to managing 4PL Inventory & Logistics providers, laundry services, and rotable equipment suppliers. The role demands a blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and leadership capabilities to transform supply chain management from a traditional support function into a dynamic competitive advantage. DHL and MNH are our primary suppliers, and the range of stakeholders, both internal and external, is extensive. This includes all caterers globally, corporate teams, airports, lounges, inflight services, Jetstar, regional airlines, engineering, Loyalty, and more. The Senior Manager will manage a team of 2 to 3 direct reports and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to provide agile solutions that maximize customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee supply chain services across the global catering network, ensuring service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead the management of 4PL Inventory & Logistics providers, laundry services, and rotable equipment suppliers.
- Develop and execute strategic supply chain plans to transform supply chain management into a competitive advantage.
- Manage relationships with primary suppliers (DHL and MNH) and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership to a team of 2 to 3 direct reports.
- Ensure the availability of the right products at the right time in the most efficient manner.
- 10 + years experience in supply chain management and logistics.
- Strong strategic vision and operational expertise.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to manage complex supplier relationships and negotiate strategic contracts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in the aviation industry or a related field is preferred.
