About the role
As Director – Corporate Affairs & Marketing, you will be joining TRI at an exciting time in the Institute’s development under the leadership of a new Chief Executive Officer.
Reporting into the CEO and acting as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will drive TRI's communications, engagement, and marketing strategy, advance our brand, and foster crucial relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & Execute Strategy: Lead overarching marketing and communications to promote TRI's priorities and brand;
- Build Key Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal/external stakeholders, media, government, and industry;
- Contribute to Leadership: As an ELT member, contribute to TRI's strategic and cultural goals and align with its values;
- Foster Collaborations: Cultivate partnerships with government, industry, and research institutions globally;
- Provide Expert Advice: Counsel the ELT and stakeholders on communications and marketing to influence decisions;
- Offer Specialist Support: Provide communications, marketing, and event support to TRI Committees and manage stakeholder expectations;
- Support TRI Foundation: Provide specialist support for philanthropic endeavours (donor management, fundraising, grants, bequests);
- Lead & Develop Team: Guide a team of 8 in the Corporate Affairs & Marketing team, set standards, and foster development; and
- Lead Special Projects: Participate in and/or lead special projects as required.
- Leadership expertise overseeing a team of internal/external communications, marketing, stakeholder engagement, branding, and media relations;
- Proficient in developing and executing communications/marketing plans, proposal/report creation, presentation delivery, and budget/contract oversight;
- Demonstrated ability to lead and build agile, high-performing teams while managing multiple projects and demanding stakeholder timelines;
- Knowledgeable in contemporary marketing and communication strategies and technologies within complex organisational structures;
- Skilled in optimising online, digital, print, and media channels to effectively serve evolving client needs;
- Outstanding communication (written/verbal/interpersonal) and risk management skills, with a proactive approach to developing innovative solutions; and
- Solid background in organisations characterised by complexity and high levels of governance.
