We seek a Senior Building Consultant to join our client's esteemed team in Lane Cove. This position is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical knowledge across various projects, including defect analysis, expert witness reporting, and remedial solutions.
About the Role
As a Senior Building Consultant, you will conduct detailed site inspections, assess building damage and defects, and prepare expert reports for legal proceedings. You will also oversee remedial projects, mentor junior team members, and provide tailored advice to clients across residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct forensic inspections to identify structural damage, design flaws, and construction defects.
- Analyse building failures and recommend suitable remediation strategies.
- Prepare detailed expert reports for litigation, mediation, and arbitration.
- Develop scopes of work and manage repair and rectification processes.
- Liaise professionally and clearly with clients, legal professionals, and stakeholders.
- Supervise multiple projects and mentor junior consultants.
About You
We are looking for an experienced, technically proficient consultant who possesses:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in the building and construction industry.
- Experience in conducting on-site assessments of construction works and building defects together with demonstrated ability to produce: building reports, site inspection reports, rectification methodologies and remedial specifications.
- Ability to administer construction contracts and undertake Project Management services.
- A comprehensive understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards.
- Relevant qualifications in Building, Construction, or Engineering.
-Knowledge of current trends in construction and other technical and environmental demands on buildings.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Must be able to work from the Lane Cove office and travel to site inspections when required.
