Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Clinical Toxicologist to join the Addiction Psychiatry and Toxicology (APT) team.
About Northern Health:
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our five main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
About Mental Health Division:
Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.
Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.
We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.
About the Role:
This role will support the APT Clinical Lead to lead and direct the clinical functions of APT to ensure maximal achievement of Key Performance Indicators and excellence in clinical care.
The APT Clinical Toxicologist will provide support to APT through supervision of trainees working within APT, provision of on-call advice during rostered hours, and supporting APT during planned leave of the APT Clinical Lead.
They will promote strong clinical and medical leadership, expertise, and advice so that the highest quality care is delivered at Northern Health.
This position is part time ongoing position working 15 hours per fortnight.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Essential:
• Specialist registration with AHPRA
• Recognition as a Clinical Toxicologist in Australia, specifically
- A current appointment with a Poisons Information Centre,
- Post-graduate qualifications in Clinical Toxicology and,
- Current experience providing on-call Clinical Toxicology advice
• Current Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine, College of Intensive Care Medicine or both,
• Current Australian Drivers Licence
Experience
• Prior experience with patients from backgrounds involving trauma, substance use and/or dependency or mental health conditions
