Join the Melbourne Central Basketball Association as a Technical Officials Program Manager
Location: Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre | 0.8 FTE
Are you passionate about basketball and developing the next generation of referees and technical officials? MCBA is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Technical Officials Program Manager to lead, support, and grow our officiating team across domestic and representative competitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead recruitment, development, and retention of referees and technical officials.
- Mentor and empower officials and supervisors, fostering a positive officiating culture.
- Coordinate officiating appointments and manage performance standards across competitions.
- Deliver referee training programs and BV accreditation courses.
- Ensure compliance with Basketball Victoria (BV) policies, including child safety and officiating charters.
- Maintain systems (e.g. Refbook) for communication, scheduling, and payment.
- Develop pathways and opportunities for officials through education, mentoring, and recognition.
What You Bring:
- Strong knowledge of the BV officiating landscape and referee pathways.
- Proven communication and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in referee coaching and officiating program management.
- Administrative acumen, including experience with Refbook and Microsoft Office.
