Purpose

The People Experience Business Partner is a key advisor and strategic partner to Business Leaders and first point of contact for our Australian employees.

This role is responsible for delivering end-to-end people solutions that enable high performance, foster a positive employee experience, and align with business objectives.

With a strong generalist background and 6–8 years of experience, the HRBP will work across the employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, performance development, and HR initiatives that drive engagement and culture.

This role is a standalone role in Australia and includes some office support activities. The role plays a crucial role in enhancing the employee experience at Buildxact and supports the People Experience (PEX) team in various administrative and operational functions, ensuring smooth processes and a positive workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering

  • Partner with business leaders to understand operational goals and translate them into people strategies.

  • Provide proactive and trusted HR advice, coaching, and support to managers and employees.

  • Manage and advise on employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies.

  • Guide leaders through performance management processes, including feedback, development planning, and formal processes when required.

  • Manage employee variations, changes with correct documentation and appropriate systems updates.

  • Work with the Director People Operations & Experience to deliver the 2025 remuneration review process

  • Execute the performance review cycle.

  • Contribute to succession and talent planning processes, including capability assessments and development plans.

  • Support change management processes across teams and departments.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist in the coordination of meetings for all monthly and quarterly company meetings.

  • Coordinate office managements requirements as required eg monthly food order.

Workplace Experience activities and events

  • Support initiatives aimed at enhancing workplace culture and employee engagement including:

  • Coordinate other wellbeing activities and programs, promoting a healthy work-life balance and employee engagement.

  • Organise employee awards and recognition programs, celebrating achievements and contributions.

  • Coordinate Melbourne based social club and lead end of year celebration for Australian team.

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • When required support the Talent Manager on recruitment in Australia, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination.

  • Facilitate the onboarding and induction process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organisation.

Work Health and Safety

  • Coordinate first aid officers training for 2026.

  • Ensure first aid equipment is stocked and regularly changed

  • Coordinate office fire wardens

Projects and Initiatives:

  • Participate in various HR projects as directed, such as employee engagement survey, leadership training project, values project.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Business or Human Resources

Preferred or working towards Australian Human Resources Institution (AHRI) certification - CHRP

Key Behaviours

  • 6–8 years' experience in a generalist or HRBP role, ideally within fast-paced or growing organisations.

  • Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and contemporary HR practices.

  • Proven experience in coaching leaders, managing ER matters, and delivering people initiatives.

  • High level of emotional intelligence, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

  • Proficiency in HR systems and tools (e.g., Bamboo HR, Culture amp, Trainual, ASANA)

Health & Safety

Contribute to health and safety at work by identifying, reporting, and controlling hazards and promptly reporting any accident/incident.
