WD Autobody: Reviving History
We are a family-owned and leading car restoration business based in Dromana, renowned for our innovation, exceptional craftsmanship, and dedication to customer service.
We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Apprentice Panel Beater to join our skilled Reviving History team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop technical skills, gain hands-on experience, and learn from industry leaders while working on classic car restorations and high-end prestige/luxury repairs.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with the Panel Shop Manager to assist in the repair and restoration of customer vehicles
- Learn essential panel beating techniques including shaping, welding, and fabrication
- Use power tools and hand tools to file, grind, and sand repaired surfaces
- General stripping of vehicles and assembling
- Perform thorough cleaning of customer vehicles, both interior and exterior
- Moving Cars in and out of the workshop
- Be an integral part of a creative, dynamic team, gaining hands-on experience with real projects
What We're Looking For:
- A genuine passion for cars, especially classics and custom builds
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn
- Basic knowledge of automotive tools is a plus
- Enthusiasm for hands-on work in a fast-paced, innovative environment
About You:
- Passionate about the automotive industry, particularly in panel beating
- Be in your 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology or Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology (Advantageous)
- A good sense of humour and positive attitude
- Willingness to commit to completing the apprenticeship, including studies with a renowned training provider
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude
- A reliable team player with strong communication skills
- Well-presented and able to work effectively within a close-knit team
- Values honesty, reliability, and punctuality
- Permanent resident or have appropriate Australian working rights
Apprentice Requirements:
- Available to commence from asap.
- Commitment to completing in house TAFE apprenticeship
- Good work ethic and attitude
- Flexibility and willingness to perform a variety of tasks
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Awareness of OH&S requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
