The Role

The Mosquito and Pest Supervisor leads, develops, and coordinates a multi-disciplinary team to ensure public infrastructure is maintained, safe, and available to the community.

This role coordinates planned and reactive works to control mosquitos, termites, cockroaches and rodents to ensure public space and infrastructure is safe and available for public use.

You

You will have considerable knowledge and experience in pest control and in the operational planning and coordination of resources to deliver an effective pest control programs. You will have a high level of technical knowledge to provide advice to management and to guide your team in effective control measures.

You will be a collaborative leader with strong communication skills to connect with team members, customers, stakeholders, and management.

We are looking for an agile leader who understands Council’s needs and can prioritise and coordinate accordingly and respond quickly to emerging issues.

In this role you will:

  • coordinate the planning and implementation of proactive work schedules
  • investigate, analyse and prepare correspondence and operational reports
  • ensure records, registers and treatment reports are accurate, up-to-date and compliant
  • maintain knowledge of new technology, developments and innovations
  • responsible for monitoring, controlling, managing the delivery of operational activities.

To be successful you will have:

  • demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint
  • extensive experience in the coordination, planning, and delivery of planned and reactive maintenance
  • demonstrated ability to provide expert advice, influence, and negotiate with stakeholders, customers, and suppliers
  • demonstrated financial management skills
  • knowledge of new technology, developments, and innovations
  • sound knowledge of and demonstrated ability applying relevant Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental practices.
