The Project: Alkimos Pipeline Alliance
You'll be part of the Alkimos Pipeline Alliance, delivering the Alkimos to Wanneroo desalination pipeline which will be a below ground pipeline that transfers drinking water produced by the future Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant to Wanneroo Reservoir to be integrated with Perth's Integrated Water Supply Scheme. The pipeline will be the largest water pipeline Water Corporation has constructed, with a diameter of up to 1600mm and will stretch for around 33.5 kilometres, taking water to Carabooda Tank, the future Nowergup Tank, and on to Wanneroo Reservoir.This is your chance to play a leading role on one of the state's most important infrastructure projects.
The Role: Section Manager
We're seeking an experienced and driven Section Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team in the safe and successful delivery of a key sections of the Alkimos pipeline. This role suits a hands-on leader with experience withing pipelines and services who thrives in technically complex environments and brings strong collaboration, safety focus, and delivery experience to the table.
What to Expect in This Role:
* Oversee daily operations across a defined project section, ensuring safety, program, quality, and budget targets are met
* Lead and mentor site teams, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors
* Monitor progress, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain project performance
* Engage with project partners, including the client (Water Corporation), consultants, and stakeholders
* Support planning, procurement, and coordination of resources to drive efficient delivery
* Demonstrate development and management of a number of subordinate engineers
* Demonstrate managerial acumen in areas such as Contract awareness and commercial control
* Excellent technical knowledge of all aspects of commercial engineering
* Be comfortable presenting to large audiences (lots of stakeholder engagement)
* Experience in coordinating and/or running toolbox meetings, pre-start meetings, site inductions and a demonstrated commitment to HSEQ practices
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills which enable you to assist in resolution of client and key stakeholders' concerns
* Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality requirements
* Foster a strong, values-driven culture on site aligned with alliance principles
What We're Looking For:
* Demonstrated experience in a Section Manager or Project Engineer leadership role on civil infrastructure projects
* Background in large-scale pipeline, water, or road infrastructure delivery
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Attends to the scope of work assigned with defined work methods and delivers the work in accordance with total project schedule.
* Prepares short term (4 weekly or as otherwise directed) look ahead programs, and provides input into the project schedule, status of works and reporting requirements.
* Measure and review productivity for assigned tasks and report formally to the project team and collaborate in driving any required changes
* Maintains and updates (or assists others to maintain) the contract program, including productivity units and ensuring the timely notification of EOT's or Delay
* High safety and environmental awareness, with a commitment to best practice
* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver results under pressure
* Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
