The Gateways Support Services vision is to help provide support for children and adults with a disability and their families to maximise their quality of life.Our staff are made up of mountain bike riders, comedians, skiers, surfers, video game superstars, movie buffs, musicians, cat people, dog people and more. The Role
As a Support Worker (Camps, Recreation and Individual Support), you will be providing positive support and direction. Your dedication to maximise their potential, quality and enjoyment of life will empower children and adults with a disability and additional needs and their families to build on the unique strengths and needs of each participant and their family/carers to reach their goals – even if it means jumping into the pool for a swimming session!
What You Will Need
Demonstrated experience in working with children, young people or adults with disabilities and challenging behaviour will be highly regarded.Flexibility with work hours.Experience in positively communicating with staff, participants and families.Valuing attitudes and professional behaviour which respects the dignity, rights, strengths, needs and interests of people with disabilities.Sound computer skills, including the ability to open emails, perform online training and book shifts on the client database.Employee Working with Children Check (Or willing to obtain one)NDIS Workers Screening Check (Or willing to obtain one)NDIS Workers Orientation module (Certificate of completion)Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate (Or willing to obtain one)A current Victorian Driver's License Certificate IV in Disability or Community Services (desirable)
