About The Role
Under close supervision from industry professionals, this position undertakes a competency-based apprenticeship to develop a range of skills in small engines through formal and on-the-job learning activities. This position consists of completing a Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment Technology at TAFE North Queensland.
You will develop the practical skills and knowledge required to undertake repair and servicing of electrical and mechanical outdoor power equipment including but not limited to, lawn mowers, chainsaws, brush cutters, pumps, generators and a large range of equipment. Additionally, you will learn how to identify the components of small engines, perform daily maintenance, and carry out safe refuelling and pre-start checks.

About You
In an ideal applicant, we are looking for:
Demonstrated experience role modelling a positive safety culture and adherence to the Health Safety Management Systems through visible leadership and exercising due diligence and management of compliance and legislative obligations. Minimum completed of Year 10 with passes in English and Mathematics. Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers’ licence (or ability to obtain). Sound written and verbal communication skills. Sound computer skills. Ability to work effectively within a team environment. Willingness to undertake the requirements to successfully complete the associated qualification.
