About the role
This temporary role will be based exclusively in Warragul. The successful candidate will be a suitably qualified and experienced mechanic who has the capacity to participate in regular, physically demanding work. Completion of a National Police Check and Working with Children’s Check (employee) is a mandatory requirement of this role.
The role is a temporary full-time opportunity for 3 months. Hours are 8am-4pm Monday - Friday. A generous hourly rate is on offer, relative to candidate experience.
Duties
  • Plan monthly preventative maintenance requirements for company vehicles, plant and
  • equipment.
  • Execute the maintenance to a high standard.
  • Execute maintenance activities at depot to ensure continuity of operation.
  • Order parts and stores necessary for the maintenance program, maintaining cost control.
  • Accurately record timesheets and maintenance activities performed within Council’s electronic
  • fleet management system,
  • Assist in the introduction, installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment within the depots
  • Keep abreast of alternative maintenance techniques involving new plant and equipment, attending training courses where appropriate.
Skills & Experience
  • Relevant mechanical trade certification (Automotive, Heavy Vehicle, Diesel or Mobile Plant)
  • Extensive experience in diagnosis and repair of petrol and diesel motor vehicles, plant and equipment
  • Previous experience in fabrication and machining of parts for repairs/modifications
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License (HR License desirable)
    Construction Induction Card (desirable)
  • Current Working with Children’s Check (Employee), or willingness to obtain
  • Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain
