About the Role:
As a Kitchenhand at Montessori Academy, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of children through nutritious and carefully prepared meals. Our centres are catered, so no cooking is required . Your focus will be on safely handling, plating, and serving meals, maintaining high hygiene standards, and supporting educators with children’s nutritional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plate and serve morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and late snacks
  • Follow strict food safety guidelines for children with allergies or anaphylaxis
  • Safely handle food, including portioning and plating
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and shared spaces
  • Support educators by helping meet each child’s nutritional needs
  • Comply with food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Represent Montessori Academy’s values and philosophy to families and visitors
  • Attend team meetings and engage with company policies and procedures
What You’ll Need:
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willing to obtain one)
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to team success
