In this role, you will work directly with youth to provide individualised support, coordinate care plans, and connect them with the services and resources they need to thrive.
As a key member of our care support team, you will build trusting relationships with youth and their families, collaborate with service providers, and advocate for the well-being and development of every individual you support. Description
Your role as a Mental Health Worker
As a trusted member of our mental health team, you’ll work closely with not only our young people but an amazing team that will support you every step of the way.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Work with and building trusted professional rapport with young people 12-25 years of age who require assistance with early mental health problems/concerns, substance abuse problems, primary health concerns, education and training, or other care or service needs using the HEADSS assessment and a strengths-based recovery framework.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to the needs and goals of each young person, providing emotional support and guidance in a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive manner.
- Deliver evidence based psychological treatment, monitoring outcomes drawing on a range of theoretical options. The ability to administer an appropriate risk management plan.
- Provide a holistic person- centred and family inclusive practice.
Skills And Experiences
What you'll bring
Qualifications and experience:
- Tertiary level degree in Social work, Psychology, Nursing or other allied health profession or have completed relevant study in these fields, and if required a willingness to be employed provisionally to see registration.
- Experience in the delivery or willingness to deliver both individual and group counselling and programs including social connection activities with young people.
- Demonstrate experience in management of clinical risk or willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of mental health as is relates to young people experiencing with mental illness and other health related issues and interventions for same.
- Experience or openness to working in rural and autonomous setting under supervision.
