As a Senior Contracts Officer in our Defence and Maritime team based in Sydney, you'll help deliver critical services to the Australian Government. This role supports the Contracts Specialist – Maritime and engages closely with operations and engineering teams to manage complex contract deliverables, ensure compliance, and contribute to commercial and growth strategies. You’ll play a key part in strengthening our customer relationships and ensuring efficient contract operations.

As a Senior Contracts Officer in the Defence and Maritime team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Supporting contract and subcontract management to ensure compliance
  • Interpreting and advising on contract terms for internal stakeholders
  • Drafting and negotiating contract change proposals and project documentation
  • Designing process improvements for commercial and contract operations
  • Providing commercial input on proposals, deliverables, and reporting
  • Managing correspondence, systems, and financial delegations in line with policy

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • A degree in law, business, finance or a related field
  • 3–5 years of contract management or commercial experience
  • Experience in Defence, Maritime or engineering sectors (desirable)
  • Strong ability to interpret complex documents and communicate clearly
  • Excellent stakeholder collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to work independently

  • You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance
