We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our Ryde team full-time and help lead kitchen operations during daytime service.
The Role
As a Chef at Maggio’s Ryde, you’ll play a vital part in delivering consistent, high-quality dishes that reflect our values of simplicity, flavour, and hospitality. You'll be involved in everything from prep to service, team collaboration, and seasonal menu development.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes to a high standard, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation
- Follow established recipes while also contributing to seasonal menu updates
- Maintain stock levels and manage ingredients efficiently to reduce waste
- Uphold food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness at all times
- Collaborate with fellow chefs and FOH staff to deliver smooth daily service
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management a plus)
- At least 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced café, restaurant, or similar venue
- Solid understanding of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and ingredients
- Great attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays
- Daytime hours – no late nights
- Competitive salary: $70,000 – $80,000 per year
