They are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Worker to join their team. In this role, the successful candidate will provide personalised care within a residential setting, supporting clients’ independence, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life. The role involves working collaboratively with clients and their families to implement care plans that support daily living activities and promote social inclusion..
Position Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Deliver person-centered care and consistent supervision within a residential setting, prioritizing the safety, comfort, and overall well-being of each individual.
- Support residents with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and assistance with medication in accordance with care plans.
- Provide compassionate emotional support, encouragement, and practical guidance to promote resilience and well-being.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to implement tailored care strategies that meet individual needs.
- Encourage the development of independent living skills, fostering self-reliance and confidence in day-to-day activities.
- Maintain a respectful and inclusive living environment that upholds the dignity, rights, and cultural values of all individuals.
- Observe, monitor, and accurately record changes in client behaviour and progress, escalating any concerns to the relevant care or case management teams.
- Engage in ongoing training and development to ensure care practices align with current standards, policies, and best-practice approaches.
- Respond appropriately to challenging behaviours by applying behaviour management techniques and maintaining a structured, supportive environment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or a related field.
- At least 1 of year experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of person-centered care principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
Salary: $70.000 – $90.000 p.a. plus superannuation + superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
