We’re hiring a Lead Back-End Developer (Python) to spearhead the architecture and development of a new AI-powered training platform that’s set to service the majority of the country's medical professionals.
This greenfield build combines cutting-edge data science, machine learning, and Python engineering to deliver smart course recommendations, dynamic content search, and intelligent learning paths for medical professionals.
You'll work with one of the biggest educational providers in healthcare, building a platform that will directly support Australia’s medical workforce.

- Guide architectural decisions and define backend best practices for a product that’s going national.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with AI specialists, product owners, and analysts to deliver real-world impact.
- 7+ years in Python development, including 2+ years in technical leadership or architecture.
- Expertise with frameworks such as Django, FastAPI or Flask.
- Experience working with machine learning libraries or AI-driven products.
- Experience building production-grade systems in AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Confidence in CI/CD, testing, cloud deployments, and scaling performant applications.
- Strong communication and mentoring chops—you’ll be building up a team, not just a product.
- Background in medtech, edtech, or high-scale data-driven platforms.
- Familiarity with message queues, event-driven systems, or container orchestration (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes).
- $170k–$180k + super (with contract to perm options available)
