Description:

SASH Northern Beaches comprises of a dedicated team of veterinary specialists, emergency and critical care veterinarians, nurses and support staff who have come together as SASH Northern Beaches and fulfil the vision of defining excellence in companion animal healthcare for the community they serve.
We are seeking Emergency and Critical Care Nurses to join our gold class facility, working closely with Critical Care Registrar, Dr Megan Collins and our experienced team of emergency vets.

What your day-to-day looks like:
  • Assist with and/or perform advanced interventions such as placement of central, PICC and arterial lines, direct arterial pressure monitoring, urinary catheter placement, feeding tube placement, high flow nasal oxygen provision, and mechanical ventilation
  • Participate in and lead CPR resuscitation efforts
  • Assist with admissions and discharges from the ICU
  • Conduct and collect various laboratory samples for internal and external analysis
  • Assist with transfer to and reception of critical care referrals from general practice veterinarians
  • Support the emergency department with triage and procedural responsibilities
  • Assist with critical care anaesthesia, including TIVA, in collaboration with anaesthetists within the SASH network

To be considered for this position, applicants must have :
  • Completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing with a Diploma, Bachelor or VTS qualification highly regarded.
  • A minimum of 3 years, full-time experience as a qualified nurse.
  • Previous experience in Emergency, ICU or referral medicine will be highly advantageous
