Our clients are a progressive, family-owned pastoral business operating an impressive station that spans 280,000 acres in the Oxley region, near Hay and Balranald, NSW. They primarily focus on a dual-purpose Merino flock, currently managing a join of 30,000 ewes, while also engaging in opportunistic cattle trading based on seasonal conditions and market demands.In recent years, the company has made significant infrastructure improvements to support its operations. These enhancements include reliable water points, robust internal and external fencing, and efficiently designed livestock yards. They have also developed a state-of-the-art 11-stand raised board shearing shed, complemented by comfortable shearers' quarters and a modern homestead complex. These investments enhance operational efficiency and reflect the company’s commitment to sustainable pastoral practices and ongoing development.
As part of this team, you will engage in all aspects of sheep and cattle husbandry, general farm infrastructure, and machinery maintenance, making mechanical skills particularly desirable. Your small team of quality working dogs will be welcome and regularly utilised in your daily work. Employment opportunities for partners may also be available if desired, as you are welcomed into a close-knit team of six, reporting directly to the onsite Station Manager, who fosters a family-friendly environment.
The Offer
An appealing salary package is available for negotiation for the successful candidate, who will be provided with a beautifully renovated 3-bedroom home, featuring established lawns, trees, and an enclosed three-bay garage.
Situated 80 km northwest of Hay and 80 km northeast of Balranald, a school bus service is just 30 km from the station, offering a choice of schools in Hay, as well as additional schooling opportunities in Balranald.

Requirements:
- Quality sheep and cattle animal husbandry skills
- Own working dogs is advantageous
- Attention to detail and ability to self-start
- Strong mechanical aptitude and fabrication abilities
- General station skills, i.e., fencing, machinery operation, etc.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude
- Quality communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
