The Role:
We are seeking a local Driver to join the team in the Mackay depot for pickup and delivery work. Local drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of customer goods and the loading, unloading and load restraint of freight.
We are looking for someone to work on a casual basis across Monday – Friday with some weekend work. Extra runs available depending on licence held.
Primary duties of the role include:
- Working with temperature sensitive produce for local pickup and delivery runs
- Ensuring the safe and timely handling of company freight
- Completing relevant pre-start checklists, safety documentation and delivery paperwork including the use of in-vehicle technology
- Interacting with clients in a professional manner
- Working closely with depot teams for the loading, unloading and transportation of freight
The candidates we are looking for will:
- Have a current & valid MR licence as a minimum, HC/MC licence an advantage
- Knowledge of paperwork associated with freight delivery and familiarity using internal cab data systems
- Have a commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Have a strong customer focus with good communication skills.
- Be well presented, professional and reliable.
- A current and valid Forklift licence is highly regarded but not essential.
To be successful for this role applicants must:
- Pass a Commercial Drivers Health Assessment including drug and alcohol test
- Provide a current traffic print out
- Be willing to work weekend shifts and be flexible with start & finish times
