Committed to maintaining high standards of presentation, safety, and operational excellence, they are seeking a proactive Facilities Assistant to join their team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Centre Manager and Operations Manager , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the shopping centre. This hands-on position involves asset maintenance, contractor coordination, risk management, and general upkeep to ensure the centre remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining the centre’s assets and ensuring all operational systems and procedures are followed
- Ensure risk management and safety procedures are continuously implemented
- Monitor and liaise with contractors and service providers (security, cleaning, maintenance, etc.)
- Investigate and report incidents, ensuring compliance with WHS policies
- Carry out minor maintenance and cleaning tasks, including lighting replacements, plumbing, and gardening
- Support tenancy fit-outs and coordinate with retailers on operational matters
- Participate in emergency control procedures and attend relevant training sessions
- Previous experience in an operational, maintenance, or facilities role (shopping centre experience desirable)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- A proactive and hands-on approach to daily tasks
- Knowledge of WHS regulations and risk management procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A valid driver’s license and relevant statutory licenses (or willingness to obtain)
