Benarkin State School is a small school located in the South Burnett region of Queensland. Benarkin sits atop the Balfour Range about 6 kilometres east of Blackbutt, on the way to Kingaroy. Benarkin State School is 105kms N of Toowoomba, the regional capital for the Darling Downs and has long been a major centre for commerce, industry and education. Benarkin State School caters for students from Prep to Year 6 with current enrolment numbers at 43.
The ideal principal will lead an improvement agenda built around innovation, quality teaching and learning, inclusive practices, and strong community partnerships.

About Benarkin State College
Benarkin is a very small town with an approximate population of 61, with only one shop. Most of our students live on small acreage blocks about 5-10 kilometres west of the main town. Benarkin State School values safety, respect, responsibility and resilience and models these through their expectations: Be safe, Be respectful, Be responsible, and Be resilient. The nearby town of Blackbutt is the origin of the town and the two towns are often referred to as the joint entity Blackbutt-Benarkin. There is no secondary school in Benarkin, the nearest are in Nanango, Toogoolawah and Kilcoy.
