Your Opportunity:The Wide Bay Mental Health and Specialised Services (WBMHSS) Community Engagement Team Leader or Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is a new position funded under a Better Care Together enhancement and will provide leadership, operational management and clinical oversight of three crisis support spaces and Hospital and Health Service (HHS) wide specialist services inclusive of Early Psychosis, Co Responder, Multicultural workforce and Perinatal services.
What we're looking for:Drive and create a positive workplace culture through respectful communication, expertly balancing the needs of staff and service delivery outcomes.Senior leadership to engage and promote collaborative partnerships and capability across the community sector with other key stakeholders eg. General Practitioners, Primary Health Networks and other key NDIS/ NGO service providers.Expert knowledge of, and ability to articulate the principles of recovery and mental health care, and the application of these principles in clinical practice across a variety of disciplines and models of care.Fair, strong and compassionate leadership, who can support the team to achieve positive consumer outcomes.Specialist clinical knowledge and expertise in the planning and delivery of contemporary mental health services, including leading a recovery-based model of care, evidence and values based practice, and continuous quality improvement to enhance service delivery outcomes.High level skills in the operational management of a diverse multidisciplinary team, service budget and resources.High level interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills and ability to develop effective partnerships with relevant government and non-government organisations.Expert knowledge of National and State Mental Health directions and legislation relevant to the provision of specialist mental health services and ability to provide high level advice to relevant stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:Mandatory possession of a nursing qualification from a registered tertiary institution or completion of an approved hospital training program and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.For Psychologists: Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution as a Psychologist and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.For Occupational Therapists: Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution as an Occupational Therapist and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.For Social Workers: Mandatory possession of a recognised degree in Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Eligibility is dependent on the candidate having completed a University level Social Work degree accredited by the AASW and that the candidate does not have any other outstanding professional competency or ethical issues or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership.Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership. Overseas qualified applicants should include such evidence with their application to be considered for short-listing in the selection process.Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.Possession of a post-graduate qualification in mental health or mental health nursing at a Graduate diploma or Master’s level, or evidence of enrolment in such a program is highly desirable.Current credentialing, or working towards credentialing with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses is highly desirable.This position may require the incumbent to achieve and maintain status as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner and undertake associated duties under the Mental Health Act 2016.

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $164,212 p.a., comprising salary between $132,562 - $143,924 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7) or remuneration package value up to $172,615 p.a., comprising salary between $144,991 - $151,289 p.a. (HP5), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f.). (Applications will remain current for 12 months).
