About the roleThis is a Permanent full-time opportunity located at Tarong Power Station.
We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to provide control systems and general I&C engineering support to the site Production and Project Teams.
This role focuses on implementing engineering and maintenance strategies, providing input to medium term asset life plans, providing technical advice, trouble shooting and the execution of operational level engineering projects. Plant of interest include control system (Siemens T3000),PLCs, hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical field instrumentation, communications (TCP and serial) and safety protection systems.
Key activities include:
Provide project engineering services to the broader projects delivery teamImplement equipment replacement strategies to optimise life cycle costs.Investigate plant performance issues/plant faults and identify suitable solutions.Provide technical leadership through the development of plant maintenance strategies in accordance with Asset Life Plans, relevant standards, and statutory requirements.Work with Corporate and other Site personnel to deliver effective and consistent high quality electrical outcomes for the site.
About you
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a degree level qualification in Engineering (Electrical) and ideally RPEQ status (or eligible for and working towards registration). Other preferred skills and experience include:
Experience in a modern thermal power station or a process industry would be highly regarded.Fault finding of process plant using proven investigation techniques.Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build working relationships, and influence, negotiate and persuade stakeholders.Project management skills. A high level of analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to implement maintenance management principles and plant strategy development.
