Mantra Mackay is currently seeking a vibrant and experienced Full-Time Event Coordinator / Restaurant Supervisor to join our passionate and professional team. This exciting dual role offers the opportunity to lead the planning and execution of a wide range of events and functions, while also overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant.
We’re looking for a talented, reliable individual who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and has a passion for hospitality. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with a strong ability to multitask and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
About the RoleAs the Event Coordinator / Restaurant Supervisor, you will:

Coordinate all aspects of events and functions from initial enquiry to post-event follow-up. These include weddings, corporate meetings, conferences, social events, and group bookings.

Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budgets, delivering tailored event planning services.

Prepare comprehensive event proposals, including timelines, budgets, and detailed plans.

Liaise with all hotel departments—Management, Catering, Housekeeping, Front Office, and Maintenance—to ensure seamless event execution.

Oversee event set-ups, including room layouts, décor, audiovisual equipment, and catering.

Supervise event and restaurant staff, ensuring excellent service standards are upheld.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly during events and restaurant service.

Maintain accurate records of event logistics, expenses, and client communications.

Manage and optimise in-house events to meet and exceed budget targets.

Drive customer satisfaction and loyalty through outstanding service and memorable experiences.

Oversee restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service, guest satisfaction, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Manage inventory and order supplies for both events and restaurant operations.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in event coordination and/or restaurant supervision.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and team members.

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.

A solid understanding of food & beverage service, event logistics, and AV equipment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel/event management systems such as iVvy and Protel.

A passion for hospitality and a dedication to providing exceptional guest service.

Strong knowledge of the Australian events and functions market.

A valid RSA certificate.
