Located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola, MRM produces and processes zinc, lead, and silver from our open-cut mine. Our products are then transported to the Bing Bong loading facility and shipped worldwide, used in everyday products across mobility, infrastructure, and communications.We’re seeking Assistant Supervisors for our production mining team who bring the right balance of people and operational skills to join our team as a frontline leader. In this role, you will assist in managing and coordinating the safe operation of the mining team to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute the Daily and Weekly Mine Plan, including upcoming development tasks, dump and tip head location preparation, compliance tasks, drill patterns, dig location preparation, and scheduled machine maintenance.Support the supervisor in directing a team of over 50 operators, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.Uphold, practice, and demonstrate Glencore Fatal Hazard Protocols and Life-Saving Behaviours, ensuring crew members’ accountability.Maintain a high sense of safety citizenship and continuously strive to improve site safety performance.Report and investigate incidents in a timely manner, implementing corrective actions to ensure bad practices are stopped and lessons are learned.Monitor and manage crew performance to ensure KPIs and production targets are met. Identify and manage areas for improvement.Lead and mentor teams to build a positive and high-performance workplace culture.Facilitate daily GCOM meetings and engage with stakeholders (Dispatch, Planning, Maintenance, Geology) to achieve strategic targets.
Successful Applicants Will Have:
Experience: Production experience in an open-pit mining environment with 2 years in a Leading Hand/Supervisor role, with a proven ability to lead and develop teams.Competencies: S1, S2, and S3 Supervisor certifications (desirable) and a current manual driver’s license.Skills: Proficient in IT/Microsoft Office and general administration duties using multiple systems.Safety: Commitment to safety and continuous improvement, focusing on a safety-first culture.Qualifications: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable), and strong leadership qualities.
