Position Overview
As a Polyolefins Technology Engineer, you will lead and support complex process modeling and simulation, technology evaluations, and capital project execution related to polyolefin operations. This is a pivotal role that involves advancing best practices, supporting R&D efforts, and mentoring junior talent in a world-class engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct process simulations including energy/material balances, utility and catalyst requirements, effluent generation, and product specifications.
- Provide technical support across the lifecycle of capital projects—from feasibility through detailed design.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and propose innovative, technically sound process solutions.
- Benchmark operational performance and assess the commercial and technical viability of polyolefins technologies.
- Participate in technology selection and R&D programs focused on polyolefins.
- Act as a mentor and knowledge resource within the engineering community.
- Interface with R&D, technical services, and internal engineering teams to support strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 20 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, including at least 7 years in polyolefins operations and technology .
- In-depth knowledge of polyolefins production technologies (HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PP) and processes (Gas Phase, Slurry Phase).
- Familiarity with catalyst systems and knowledge of various licensors of polyolefins technologies.
- Strong economic evaluation and project development skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
