We’re seeking a highly capable Developer to join our Technology team. Your focus will be on developing application software that supports the successful management of enterprise databases and associated systems—particularly across plugins, web, and device integrations.

You’ll play a vital role in shaping the architectural direction of our core systems, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and purpose-driven.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop robust software solutions from system documentation and verbal business requirements.
• Ensure all software developed is secure by design to minimize the risk of data loss or breaches.
• Collaborate with business analysts and cross-functional teams to define program needs and functional specifications.
• Evaluate business processes and recommend effective "to be" software solutions.
• Contribute to project planning through effort estimation and scheduling.
• Modify existing systems to accommodate changes or enhance functionality.
• Document development processes, code structure, testing strategies, and system changes.
• Champion the use of automated testing (e.g., Unit Testing) to improve code quality.
• Uphold SDLC best practices to reduce programming defects and technical debt.
• Configure system software to meet changing business needs.
• Provide end-user support for deployed applications and tools.
• Offer technical support for key Show Competitions during the 11-day annual Melbourne Royal Show.

• Proven experience in application or systems development, ideally in an enterprise or complex environment.
• Strong understanding of database-driven applications, system integration, and secure coding practices.
• Experience developing across web, plugins, and device platforms.
• Familiarity with architectural design principles and emerging technology trends.
• Knowledge of automated testing, unit testing frameworks, and version control systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with SDLC, agile methodologies, and secure software development.
