About the Role
We're looking for a Network Specialist with a strong operational focus to join our growing IT team. This role is critical to the design, maintenance, monitoring, and performance optimisation of our enterprise network infrastructure. This role is located at our corporate head office at Somersby on the NSW Central Coast.
Your new position, reporting to the IT Systems Manager, will be responsible for:

Designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust enterprise network, leveraging HP ProCurve and Aruba switching infrastructure

Overseeing the end-to-end monitoring and performance of the WAN, ensuring uptime, redundancy, and optimal throughput across all sites

Supporting and maintaining Unifi wireless networks across corporate and remote locations
-
Assisting in the configuration of Sophos XGS firewalls, including advanced rule sets, VPN (site-to-site and remote), and application control
-
Proactively identifying network performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve reliability and speed
-
Collaborating with IT support and systems teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize end-user experience

Ensuring security best practices are applied across all network layers
About You
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
-
Strong knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, routing protocols, and QoS
-
Proven experience in Aruba/ProCurve environments
-
Solid understanding of Unifi wireless deployments in medium to large environments
-
Experience managing VPNs, SD-WAN, and WAN optimization
-
Familiarity with network monitoring tools and interpreting performance data
-
Assist in the administration of firewalls, ensuring secure access and threat mitigation

A proactive mindset with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement
Desirable skills:
-
Experience with Aruba Central for cloud-managed switching and network monitoring across distributed environments.

Sophos XGS Firewall management
-
Experience with Azure cloud networking, including Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups (NSGs), VPN Gateways, Load Balancers, and hybrid connectivity design
