Civil Supervisors - Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone Project

The ACEREZ consortium, which includes the ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), has been appointed Preferred Proponent to design and construct the transmission line infrastructure for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ), as part of Australia’s energy transition, outlined in the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap.

The new transmission infrastructure, which will combine high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and related infrastructure, will enable generators such as solar and wind farms and energy storage providers in the CWO REZ to connect to the electricity grid, providing a reliable supply of clean, affordable electricity for households and businesses across NSW while helping to meet the state’s newly legislated Net Zero targets.

Location

Construction will be based in the Central West Orana Region; the project will have a camp and successful candidates who are not based in the Central West Orana Region will be on a roster.

Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Supervisors to share their expertise on the project. You will coordinate onsite construction activities, directing employees, resources, and subcontract teams to ensure the project's safe, timely, and high-quality completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all construction works meet specifications and relevant standards, including checking Hold and Witness Points and managing non-conformances.
  • Safety Management: Implement and adhere to project-specific safety plans, conduct hazard assessments, and ensure all personnel are inducted and aware of safety measures.
  • Leadership & Supervision: Provide positive leadership to subcontractors, monitor their performance, and ensure high standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Resource Coordination: Plan and manage the movement of materials, plant, and equipment to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records, reports, and ensure compliance with ACEREZ D&C management system procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Incident Management: Participate in incident investigations, report incidents to management, and ensure timely resolution of safety and environmental issues.
  • Planning & Operations: Develop short-term programs, ensure resource levels are adequate, and manage subcontractors to meet project timelines and efficiency targets.
  • Client & Team Communication: Conduct team meetings, maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, and foster positive relationships with clients and team members.

Key Competencies

  • Meticulous in ensuring quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to standards and specifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety procedures, risk management, and incident prevention and reporting.
  • Ability to lead and motivate subcontractors and team members, driving commitment to quality and safety.
  • Proficiency in planning, resource allocation, and managing project timelines and documentation.
  • Capable of anticipating issues, analysing problems, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders, conducting meetings, and reporting.
  • Awareness of cost allowances, daily costing of works, and managing project budgets effectively.
  • Understanding of relevant HSE policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including Rail Safety legislation where applicable.

Minimum Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferable 5+ years’ experience in Construction/Engineering.
  • Trades qualification relevant to the construction, building or manufacturing industries are highly regarded.
  • Presented problem solving / analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated relevant leadership skills.
  • Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
  • Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same
  • Self-confident and able to persuade, convince or impress others in order to gain their commitment and co-operation to a course of action.
  • Clear communication – verbal and written.
