Our Yeronga Vet team are seeking a new Lead Veterinarian to work alongside our experienced and organised Practice Manager. You’ll both support our three vets and nursing team to provide the best veterinary services to our well-established client base and community. Our popular lead is relocating with family but is available to hand over the reins along the way.
We’re looking for a veterinary surgeon, an animal advocate and a natural leader who has excellent client and communication skills. You’ll oversee clinical care and team development while also benefiting from excellent continuous education opportunities to remain current and connected to our evolving industry.
We offer a great client and pet experience with online bookings and pet wellness program while promoting a stress-free environment for a calmer experience. We also provide compassionate services and can offer home visits for those special cases. If you’re interested in the holistic or behaviour route, we also encourage and support these services.
As the Lead Veterinarian, you will:
• Provide primary clinical care for both medical and surgical cases.
• Oversee training and mentorship of the primary care veterinarian team.
• Serve as the line manager for our GP veterinarians, offering guidance and support.
• Assist in performance appraisals for the GP veterinarians.
• Contribute to the training of nursing and animal attendants when needed.
• Play a key role in the development and implementation of our marketing plan.
• Be an integral part of the hospital’s leadership team.

About You:
• BVSc or equivalent (eligible to practice in Australia)
• Registered with the QLD Veterinary Practitioners Board
• 5+ years of experience in general practice, leaderships experience is desirable
