Canteen Assistant – Arcadia College

Part-time | 10 hours per week, increasing to 30 hours in the last 2 weeks of each term

Arcadia College is an Independent Co-Educational Special Assistance Secondary School that provides a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment for young people who have disengaged from mainstream education. Conveniently located in Robina, our school is designed to promote connection, wellbeing and academic achievement. We offer personalised learning aligned with the Australian Curriculum and place a strong emphasis on student wellbeing, with comprehensive support services and a focus on health — including access to three nutritious meals per day.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Canteen Assistant to support our School Chef and the kitchen team in preparing and serving daily meals to students. This role plays a vital part in fostering a positive and caring environment where students feel valued, nourished and ready to engage in learning. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team that makes a real difference in the lives of young people every day.

  • 10 hours per week ( during regular term weeks)

  • 25- 30 hours per week during the final two weeks of each term - 5 days

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a reliable, flexible and experienced kitchen assistant who:

  • Works well under pressure and enjoys a fast-paced environment

  • Can take direction and collaborate closely with others

  • Understands the importance of compassion, tolerance and respect in a school setting

  • Is passionate about supporting young people through food and nutrition

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Catering qualifications

  • Recent experience in a busy kitchen or food service environment

  • Barista experience or qualifications highly regarded

  • Food Safety Certificate (mandatory)

  • Experience in an educational or school-based setting (desirable)

  • Paid Blue Card (Working With Children – QLD)
