Who are we looking for?

We're looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to join our Water Team in Darwin . In this rewarding role you would be expected to bolster and grow GHD’s existing presence and market share within the water and wastewater sector of the Northern Territory.

This senior role will be based within and complement our substantial Northern Australia water team. They would lead innovative solutions and high-quality project delivery for our existing and future clients in the water sector across the full project lifecycle. The role encompasses commercial business development, project delivery and coaching and the technical developing of less experienced team members.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Securing a pipeline of work for the Group in line with the group’s business plan and effectively delivering work to the satisfaction of our clients.
  • Representing GHD in this client facing role to our local Northern Territory water clients, you will be a key trusted advisor, always looking for ways to further strengthen our strong relationship with our clients.
  • Actively directing and defining the scope of water projects, designing innovative technical solutions and leading project / design teams to deliver these outcomes.
  • Leading the development and submission of proposals for new projects.
  • Playing a leading role in the development and mentoring of our team, while working in close collaboration with colleagues across service lines.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or related field and be eligible for or hold the relevant engineering registration where applicable for country / state requirements, e.g. CPEng, RPEQ, PWC Design Accreditation.
  • Significant experience in the technical leadership and management of water engineering projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable standards, and familiarity with industry best practice.
  • A track record for delivering exceptional client experience, proven ability to cross sell and identify new service offerings.
  • A valid driver's license.
