Services are provided through physical locations, mobile outreach and online/telehealth modes, supported by administration, management, software and infrastructure.
About the role
The Child Health Nurse is a crucial role within the Clinic Team. The main objective is to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, focusing on women and children aged 0-5 years. The role involves working in partnership with the Midwife to ensure children progress into the child development program.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide education and support to children and their families.
- Provide high-level clinical monitoring, identify developmental delays, and refer to appropriate services.
- Administer childhood immunizations.
- Integrate childhood maternal and child health, and family support services.
- Implement plans to address community priorities in children's health and development.
- Provide leadership and mentorship within the team.
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation and data management.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Work collaboratively with the Midwife and Paediatric Nurse.
Essential Criteria
- Qualified Registered Nurse (RN) with minimum 3 years postgraduate experience.
- Current AHPRA Registration.
- Current Post Graduate Qualification in Child Health with Relevant Experience.
- Nationally Recognised Immunisation Certificate.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
- Understanding of issues impacting the health of Aboriginal women and children.
