The Opportunity
This role forms part of the Contract Management Directorate, which is responsible for delivering the construction, commercial advisory and contract management services for transport project delivery and road maintenance services, to ensure quality outcomes for the South Australian public.

The Contract Manager is responsible for delivering government road, rail, marine transport, and/or building projects or sub-projects, both infrastructure and non-infrastructure, including managing and integrating complex contract scope, risk, time, cost, quality, communication and procurement requirements.

A key focus of the role is contract document preparation, which may include technical project specific requirements and tender evaluation; managing and conducting contract administration for civil works projects, including site surveillance, variations, claims and progress payments. The role may include that of Superintendent's Representative or equivalent for contracts of moderate value and/or complexity.

This role requires to operate with independence and the determination of priorities, work standards.

Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil/Structural/Mechanical) providing eligibility for membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia is required.

Special Conditions
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

The incumbent may be required to work anywhere within the state and stay away overnight for prolonged periods.

The incumbent may be required to work outside of normal working hours, including nights and weekends.

A current Driver’s Licence is essential.

Remuneration
PO3 - $101,285 to $107,078 pa + superannuation.
